Bitalorgan®: Effective organic nutrition for organic orange production.
<
Organic orange production requires stable nutrition supported by proper soil functioning and continuous organic mineralization. Bitalorgan® provides an effective organic base that enhances soil activity and ensures a progressive nutrient supply adapted to the natural cycle of the crop.
Managing orange trees under organic systems depends on the soil’s ability to sustain nutrition throughout the entire phenological cycle. Without fast-acting mineral fertilizers, productivity relies on processes such as organic matter mineralization, cation exchange capacity stability, rhizosphere microbial activity, and the soil’s capacity to buffer fluctuations in nutrient availability.

In this context, background fertilization plays a structural role, defining the baseline level of fertility on which the rest of the nutritional management develops.

Bitalorgan®
Bitalorgan® is a pelletized organic fertilizer designed to supply a stable organic fraction that integrates efficiently into organic farming systems. It is particularly suitable as a background fertilizer for organic orange orchards.
Its formulation promotes sustained mineralization aligned with the crop’s demand. The uniform pellet size of Bitalorgan® ensures homogeneous distribution and effective incorporation into the soil.
From an agronomic perspective, the application of Bitalorgan® generates three key effects on soil in organic orange production:
› It increases the cation exchange capacity, allowing the soil to retain essential nutrients and reducing nutrient losses through leaching.
› It improves the physical structure of the topsoil, enhancing porosity and ensuring proper root oxygenation—an essential condition for the optimal functioning of absorptive citrus root meristems.
› It stimulates soil microbiology, particularly processes such as slow organic nitrification and phosphorus solubilization, both of which are critical in systems without mineral inputs.
This systemic improvement of the soil translates into more uniform vegetative growth, a more consistent fruit set, and better-sustained fruit enlargement due to a nutrient supply synchronized with the phenology of the orange tree.
The nutritional stability provided by Bitalorgan® allows the tree to maintain a balanced C/N ratio during spring flushing, avoiding vegetative excesses that negatively affect fruit set and deficiencies that reduce final fruit size.
It is recommended to apply Bitalorgan® as background fertilization preferably in late winter or early spring, incorporating it lightly into the soil. The guideline dose ranges from 800 to 1500 kg/ha depending on expected yield and soil conditions.
These recommendations are indicative and should be adjusted according to specialized technical criteria. For optimized management, consult an agronomic advisor or contact our technical department.

Bitalorgan®: Effective organic nutrition for organic orange production.
Bitalorgan® provides a stable nutritional base that enhances soil structure, activates soil microbiology, and ensures progressive nutrient release adapted to the crop cycle. This supports balanced growth and stable yields, sustained by a fertile and dynamic soil throughout the season.
To maximize fertilization efficiency, soil and leaf analyses are recommended, adjusting doses according to crop needs. Proper irrigation management enhances nutrient uptake and overall efficiency.
