BM Flor® is a formulation designed to support the physiological processes associated with flowering and fruit set in woody crops. It combines essential micronutrients involved in the reproductive phase with seaweed extract, providing an approach that integrates nutrition and biostimulation during periods of high metabolic demand.

In almond trees, the period between pre-flowering and the onset of fruit set is decisive for the final outcome of the season. During this stage, the potential number of fruits is defined and intense physiological activity takes place, related to pollen germination, pollen tube elongation and the first cellular divisions of the fruit. Any nutritional limitation or stress situation can reduce flowering efficiency and compromise yield uniformity.

BM Flor® provides boron and molybdenum in forms that are readily assimilated by almond trees. Both nutrients play a key role in these processes. Their proper availability promotes functional flowering, improves fertilization and contributes to better retention of newly set fruit. In many almond-growing areas, especially on calcareous soils, micronutrient uptake may be limited, making it strategically important to ensure their availability at the right time.

In addition to its nutritional contribution, the presence of Ascophyllum nodosum extract in BM Flor® provides bioactive compounds that help modulate the crop’s physiological response. Under moderate abiotic stress conditions, such as temperature drops during flowering or periods of reduced root activity, these compounds contribute to maintaining metabolic activity and cellular stability.

At a stage where energy and hormonal balance are decisive for successful fruit set, this physiological support can improve the overall efficiency of the reproductive process.

From a practical standpoint, the positioning of BM Flor® in almond orchards is between pre-flowering and the beginning of fruit set. The indicative foliar recommendation for woody crops is 150 to 200 cc per hectoliter, with two or three applications (pre-flowering and fruit set) depending on crop condition and environmental factors. In fertigation, the recommendation for woody crops ranges between 2 and 4 liters per hectare per application, always adjusting the strategy according to nutritional analyses and field history. In cases where there is a history of specific boron deficiency or soil conditions that limit its availability, a combined application with a boron source in ethanolamine form may be considered to reinforce micronutrient supply, always within a diagnosis-based technical approach.

Nutritional strategy in almond with BM Flor® to optimize flowering and fruit set.

Optimizing flowering and fruit set in almond is not the result of an isolated action but of a structured nutritional strategy. Supporting the tree during this critical stage helps promote greater crop load uniformity, reduce the risk of alternate bearing and lay the foundations for a more stable and profitable season. In this context, BM Flor® is a useful and essential tool for achieving a successful campaign.
